Unbelievable that so much has happened in six months! The first sound of the day is still a drill, but the end is in sight.
Last time we wrote about the upcoming move to our new house, but unfortunately this is still a while. The finishing touches are being completed 'as we speak' and this week we are welcoming two men from our interior design company E.S.T.I.D.A. Amsterdam to deliver all the custom-made materials and curtains. The moving boxes are neatly packed and waiting for us, so just a few more days of patience.
In the meantime we are busy developing the website, setting up the booking module, writing linen companies etc. etc. There is plenty to do every day. Despite all the crowds and the many people around us during the construction, there is a lot of warmth from everyone. Genuine interest and help from all sides. In the moments when we have no idea what to do, helping hands come from every direction. Sweet messages and positive conversations from people in the village.
What is particularly striking is that you really notice that you are on an island with an island mentality. Many people know each other and are helpful to others. We also notice this with the builders and how they help each other. Borrowing a ladder, holding a beam, unloading cargo and having lunch together.
We do realize that we are lucky with all the people that are helping us prepare for this adventure. You also notice that they are really proud of what we are creating together.
